Kaon decay and mixing from Lattice QCD

In the standard model of particle physics, the asymmetry between matter
and anti-matter is related to the violation of Charge-Parity (CP).
CP violation was first discovered in kaon decays and although well-established
experimentally, a complete and quantitatively precise theoretical description
is still missing. However, the recent years have seen important progress in the
determination of the relevant hadronic matrix elements.
I will report on the first complete lattice QCD computation of the K->pipi decay
amplitudes in the Standard Model and the related determination of the CP violation
parameters, epsilon and epsilon’. I will also present the status of neutral kaon
mixing within and beyond the standard model.
