Title: Automatically Designing Algorithms

Abstract: How can we automatically design algorithms? In the past people have evolved algorithms from scratch – however, this has its limitations. We take a different approach by starting with existing code and altering small parts of the code.

We will briefly look at applications from optimisation, airport operations and software engineering.
