Our research covers a wide range of mathematical and statistical areas. The structure is centred around focussed research groups with strong collaborative links internationally and inside the UK. The vibrant and supportive atmosphere is strengthened by active seminar programmes.
The Mathematical Sciences Research Centre has been rapidly expanding adding research excellence in many areas to its portfolio. Our submission to REF 2014 saw the contribution from 16 staff members (14.4 FTEs) to the unit B10 “Mathematical Sciences”, and, yet, the number of excellent staff members has increased even more since the submission date.We submitted 65 scientific publications, and 68% of our publications were ranked internationally excellent or world leading with a 11% footprint in the world leading category.
Our research groups are:
Our research is supported by our own High Performance Computing facility. The supercomputer is a state of the art cluster comprising more than 1000 cores using InfiniBand for fast communication.
The Mathematical Sciences Research Centre is part of the School Engineering Computing and & Mathematics SECaM.
