Lattice Boltzmann Equation
Abstract: The Lattice Boltzmann Equation method represents a relatively novel way of simulating viscous fluid flows. Similar to traditional methods, we solve for fluid variables on a regular grid. However, flow variables at a given grid point are reconstructed as moments of a discrete probability density function f(x,c_k,t) and there are k=0,1,…8 velocity components in the standard D2Q9 lattice arrangement. Programming of the method is reasonably straightforward and the algorithm is readily parallelised. In this seminar, we will present
