Discipline Lead for Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research The Higher Education Academy

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is a national body for learning and teaching which works to enhance the quality of the student experience, wherever it arises in higher education. This presentation will cover a range of HEA activities which are of particular relevance to staff working in Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research. These include funding for work on teaching development projects, discipline specific professional development, networking opportunities, working groups, NSS reports, professional recognition for teaching, and the dissemination of good practice in the teaching and learning of Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research. The seminar will conclude with a discussion of experiences of successes, challenges and areas for future work.
